Ray Earl Leonard was born on October 31, 1943, in Downey, California. He dedicated twenty years of his life to serving in the United States Army, including a deployment during the Vietnam War. After his military service, Ray pursued a career in healthcare, becoming a registered nurse, and also worked as a firefighter and HVAC technician. He was known for his strong character and commitment to his family and country. Ray lived in Yuma, Arizona, where he spent his later years surrounded by loved ones. He found joy in simple pleasures such as fishing, camping, and spending quality time with his daughter and grandchildren. His sense of humor was infectious, and he had a booming laugh that could fill any room. Halloween was his favorite time of year, and he loved dressing up to give people a good scare—always in fun, always with that unmistakable twinkle in his eye.
